MIS (Minimally Invasive Surgery)-Pelvi-Acetabulam

Pelvi-Acetabular injuries are complex injuries sustained due to high energy trauma like road traffic accident, fall from heights etc. These injuries can occur in the elderly even with a trivial domestic fall & this is due their weak bones (Osteoporosis).

Pelvi-Acetabular injuries require extensive surgical exposures for their fixation, however a small subset of these injuries can be treated with MIS techniques or otherwise known as keyhole surgery. MIS has been made possible due to the advancement of imaging technology like 3D CT scans, 3D printing, intra operative imaging etc, and the better understanding of these complex injury patterns.

Here is a case of a 58 year old male patient with a history of fall from height.
